Cyclone Yaas: NDRF earmarks highest-ever number of teams for Odisha, West Bengal
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has earmarked its highest-ever number of teams for deployment in Odisha and West Bengal as part of its preparations for cyclone Yaas, a senior officer said on Tuesday.

  • Extreme cyclonic tempest ‘Yaas’ is probably going to make landfall close to Dhamra Port in Odisha’s Bhadrak area from the beginning Wednesday morning, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.
  • Dr Umashankar Das, a researcher at the Regional Meteorological Center, Bhubaneswar said that the landfall will in all probability be among Dhamra and Chandbali in the region.
